Although often referred to as "Pink Variegated", the variegation is technically albo; however, the deep, velvety foliage creates a beautiful pink appearance that gives this plant its highly sought-after look. ☀️ Light: Bright indirect for maintaining healthy growth and strong variegation. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight, particularly during the middle of the day, as the velvety foliage can scorch. Due to its variegation, this plant will benefit from slightly brighter conditions than a standard Black Velvet.

💧 Watering: Allow the top few centimetres of substrate to dry before watering thoroughly. Keep the substrate lightly moist but never waterlogged, as Alocasia are sensitive to excess moisture around the roots. Reduce watering during cooler months when growth naturally slows.

🪴 Substrate: A free-draining substrate that retains moisture while allowing excellent airflow around the roots is essential. Alocasia thrive when their roots have access to both moisture and oxygen.

• Prefers temperatures between 18-28°C.
• Enjoys humidity levels of 60% or higher, although it can adapt to average household conditions.
• Avoid cold draughts, sudden temperature fluctuations, and temperatures below 15°C.
• Feed regularly during active growth throughout spring and summer with NurtureSystem No.1 PowerGrow.
• Like many Alocasia, it may slow down or temporarily pause growth during winter, using a grow light during this period will help with continued growth.
• Monitor regularly for spider mites, which are particularly attracted to the velvety foliage.
• Pink variegation is actually a form of albo variegation. The lighter sectors often appear pink against the dark, almost black leaves, creating the distinctive contrast collectors love.

🪴 Plants are living things, and occasional minor cosmetic marks or changes can happen during transit. This is completely normal and doesn't affect the long-term health of the plant. Some plants may also take a few days − or sometimes a little longer − to adjust after delivery before showing new growth.

📸 We photograph each plant carefully and will always note any visible blemishes within the promotions page or prior to dispatch. Despite careful packing, the shipping process itself can be stressful, and it's normal for plants to need time to acclimate to their new environment once they arrive. During this period, temporary leaf changes or slower growth are to be expected and are nothing to worry about.

When getting in touch, we ask that you include your order number, full name, and a few clear photos of the plant so we can assess the situation accurately.

⏱️ To ensure fairness, compensation cannot be guaranteed if we are not notified within the 7-day period. We're also unable to offer a guarantee once the plant has been repotted, as we can't account for changes in care or environment beyond this point.

📦 Orders containing plants are dispatched Tuesday to Thursday to ensure they arrive safely. Orders without plants may also be dispatched on Fridays. We aim to dispatch all orders within 1-3 working days.

Priority shipping orders are prioritised for dispatch and will usually be sent the following working day (excluding Fridays for plant orders).

Orders placed Friday to Sunday are prepared on Monday, with plant orders dispatched from Tuesday onwards. (If we are able to fit in any plant order shipments on Monday, we will send you a notification stating dispatch)

Please note that dispatch times may be longer during busy periods or when weather conditions aren't suitable for shipping. We're unable to ship orders on bank holidays.

Each order is packed by hand with care to ensure plants arrive safely.
