About

🌿 Hoya wibergiae is a beautiful and distinctive collector's Hoya, admired for its elongated, oval-shaped foliage decorated with delicate silver splashes and prominent veining. The rich green leaves develop attractive silvery markings that vary naturally between leaves, creating a wonderfully unique appearance as the plant matures.

✨ One of the most fascinating characteristics of Hoya wibergiae is its ability to develop beautiful pinkish tones within its silver markings when exposed to brighter growing conditions. This attractive colouration can create a striking contrast against the darker green foliage, making established specimens particularly desirable amongst Hoya enthusiasts.

🌱 Naturally a climbing tropical vine, Hoya wibergiae produces long, flexible stems that can be trained around decorative hoop or trellis, or allowed to trail from a hanging planter. Mature plants may also reward growers with clusters of delicate, waxy flowers, adding another dimension to this already captivating houseplant.

⭐ Why you'll love it

  • Beautiful silver-splashed foliage
  • Unique pinkish markings under brighter conditions
  • Attractive elongated leaves with distinctive veining
  • Can be grown climbing or trailing
  • A wonderful addition to any collector's Hoya collection

Care Guide

☀️ Light - Bright indirect light is ideal for maintaining healthy growth and encouraging the attractive silver and pinkish markings across the foliage. Hoya wibergiae appreciated plenty of filtered light, although prolonged harsh midday sunshine should be avoided to prevent scorching. Gentle morning or late-afternoon sunlight may encourage stronger pink pigmentation when the plant has been gradually acclimatised. Aim for approximately 4,000-8,000 Lux. Recommended grow light - Pianta 30 Grow Light LED Bulb.

💧 Watering - Allow the substrate to dry almost completely before watering thoroughly. Hoya wibergiae develops relatively thick leaves that provide some moisture storage, making it more tolerant of occasional dryness than constantly saturated roots. Water thoroughly and allow excess water to drain freely. Reduce watering during cooler, darker months when growth tends to slow.

🪴 Substrate - A chunky, airy and free-draining substrate is essential. Like many Hoyas, Hoya wibergiae appreciates excellent airflow around its roots. Dense composts that retain excessive moisture should be avoided. A mixture containing bark, perlite, coco chips and other coarse ingredients provides a suitable balance of moisture retention and drainage. Recommended substrate - Soil Ninja Anthurium & Orchid Blend.

Additional Tips

  • Prefers temperatures of approximately 18-26°C.
  • Enjoys humidity around 50-70%, although established plants can adapt to average household conditions.
  • Avoid prolonged temperatures below 15°C.
  • Feed throughout spring and summer using NurtureSystem No.1 PowerGrow.
  • Train the vines around a hoop, trellis or suitable climbing support.
  • Alternatively, allow the stems to trail naturally from a hanging planter.
  • Brighter conditions may encourage attractive pink pigmentation within the silver markings.
  • Never remove flower peduncles, as established spurs can produce flowers repeatedly.
  • Monitor regularly for mealybugs, spider mites and scale insect.

💡 Please note: Care advice is intended as a general guide. Growing conditions vary between homes, seasons and environments, so adjustments may be needed to suit your specific conditions.

Guarantee

📦 We take great care in selecting, preparing, and packing every plant we send. Our goal is for all plants to arrive healthy and ready to settle into their new home, and we stand by the quality of what we ship. For this reason, we offer a 7-day live arrival guarantee on all plants.

🪴 Plants are living things, and occasional minor cosmetic marks or changes can happen during transit. This is completely normal and doesn't affect the long-term health of the plant. Some plants may also take a few days − or sometimes a little longer − to adjust after delivery before showing new growth.

📸 We photograph each plant carefully and will always note any visible blemishes within the promotions page or prior to dispatch. Despite careful packing, the shipping process itself can be stressful, and it's normal for plants to need time to acclimate to their new environment once they arrive. During this period, temporary leaf changes or slower growth are to be expected and are nothing to worry about.

📬 If you experience any issues with your order, please contact us at help@thearoidarium.co.uk within 7 days of delivery so we can help as quickly as possible. When getting in touch, we ask that you include your order number, full name, and a few clear photos of the plant so we can assess the situation accurately.

⏱️ To ensure fairness, compensation cannot be guaranteed if we are not notified within the 7-day period. We're also unable to offer a guarantee once the plant has been repotted, as we can't account for changes in care or environment beyond this point.
